Work

I'm currently working as a software developer for Klarna, a Stockholm-based company that provides payment solutions for online merchants.

I have worked as a programmer since 2005, first in SEO, then as a contractor in web development and some algorithmic work. My strong points are PHP, Erlang, Python, and R, but I'm familiar with a whole lot of other acronyms.

Studies

I enrolled at The Royal Institute of Technology, KTH, in Stockholm in August 2004, where I'm pursuing a Master of Science in Engineering Physics degree. Currently polishing my thesis, scheduled to be completed some time ago. Despite the name of the degree, I have been studying mostly mathematics, particularly probability theory, statistics and financial mathematics, the latter being the topic of my thesis.

Specifically, my thesis is on the topic of game contingent claims.

Other projects

I am the author of quickledger, a small tool that simplifies bookeeping by applying filters to downloaded bank statements and generating a file for use with ledger

I also have a blog where I occasionally write about statistics, finance and electronics. Sadly, my archives were lost in September 2010, and there has been little activity since.

Very short bio

I was born in Stockholm, Sweden, on 8 April 1985, and stayed until September 2007. At that point I moved to Munich, Germany, for exchange studies. In March 2009, I went to Stellenbosch, South Africa, to write my thesis, and in October 2009, on to Cape Town to work. In May 2011, I returned to Stockholm.
